I'm thinking Solo wasn't the most successful smuggler ever. Seems he's barely been able to maintain it. Or maybe the rundown dirty look is part of the plan to remain innocuous.
As fascinated as I am by the Falcon in this movie I can't help but be a little dissapointed in some of the aesthetic decisions.
The MF went from being a decades-old ship that looks the way it does because it's ancient and hot-rodded by countless owners in the EU to Han Solo is just a slob and takes terrible care of his stuff
The Star Wars Show has a really good look at the new/old Falcon in a 360 spin around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZAryCaRE3k
